Bayer sells Trace Mar 28, 2006 5:02 PM On-farm seed treatment business sold to Chemtura. Bayer CropScience announced plans to sell its on-farm application seed treatment business to Chemtura Corp., Middlebury, CT. The transaction includes the sale of the Trace seed treatment product line and a 14-person formulation operation in Pekin, IL. The sale includes access by Chemtura to certain Bayer CropScience active ingredients, registrations and trademarks. Bayer purchased the Trace line and operations when the company purchased the Gustafson seed treatment business. Bayer officials reported the company can better meet crop protection needs of growers by focusing its seed treatment portfolio on seed companies and conditioners and the distribution channel. |
