Bigger markets for Dow AgroSciences

Feb 15, 2001 12:00 PM

Herbicides released in limited quantities last year by Dow AgroSciences will see expanded markets in 2001.

Redeem R & P, a grass release herbicide, is used on noncrop areas, permanent grass pastures and rangeland. It's a low-odor formulation of active ingredients clopyralid, noted for thistle control, and triclopyramine and does not require a restricted-use license in most states. In addition to Canada, musk and bull thistles, Redeem R & P controls other broadleaves, such as knapweed, dandelion, cocklebur, plantain, oxeye daisy and other problem weeds in pastures, Conservation Reserve acres, building sites and corrals. The herbicide has no grazing restrictions for beef cattle, horses, sheep or goats. It is applied with water or liquid fertilizer.

Glyphomax, containing the same active ingredient as Roundup, is a lower-cost alternative for fallow cropland, preplant burndown or postplant applications in crops and around buildings. Glyphomax is similar to original Roundup and Glyphomax Plus to Roundup Ultra. Both come in bulk, minibulk shuttles, 30s and 2.5-gal. jugs. Contact Dow AgroSciences, 9330 Zionsville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268, 800/208-4094, or circle 400.
