First lab accredited

Sep 1, 2005 12:00 PM

BIODIAGNOSTICS of River Falls, WI, is the first seed lab in the United States to become a USA Accredited Seed Lab under USDA's new seed lab testing program. USDA launched the voluntary program earlier this year.

USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service conducts the independent process verification audits of a seed lab's program documentation and procedures. It determines how the company performed in a number of crucial areas related to germination and physical purity testing.
