Highway safety reminder

Apr 1, 2006 12:00 PM

DURING THE spring application season, it is important to remember highway safety and to ensure your employees have received up-to-date training on the safe operation of equipment. The Agribusiness Association of Iowa (AAI) has reminded its dealers that, while on the road, applicators should not drive their sprayers or fertilizer equipment more than 35 mph. They also must display a Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) sign on their vehicles.

The AAI also cautions its dealers never to run equipment loaded to the field or between fields. Various states, such as Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin, have similar weight limits for their highways.
