Monsanto forms American Seeds

Monsanto Company, St. Louis, MO, has created a new holding company called American Seeds Inc. (ASI) to support regional seed businesses with capital, genetics and technology investments. These investments will allow the operating companies of ASI to more directly connect their customers to significant innovations in genomics-based breeding and other new technologies while continuing to operate autonomously and locally.

ASI is a wholly owned subsidiary, reporting to Monsanto's U.S. Crop Production business along with the company's existing branded and licensing businesses.

New sales manager for MachineryLink

Russell Finney has joined MachineryLink, Kansas City, MO, as a sales manager for Mississippi, Arkansas, Missouri Bootheel, western Kentucky, southern Illinois and Tennessee. Finney has extensive experience working with agribusinesses, most recently with Case Corporation. He has a bachelor's degree in agriculture business from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

New managers at MANA

Makhteshim Agan of North America (MANA) has appointed Sam Breckenridge as its business manager in the Central Plains area of the U.S. Breckenridge will be responsible for introducing new crop protection products to Midwestern customers in Nebraska, Kansas and Colorado.

MANA also has promoted Jeff Hayslett to national accounts manager. Hayslett was previously MANA central Midwest business manager. He will assume his new responsibilities immediately.

Finally, MANA has appointed Jeff Preston as the company's business manager for the Upper Midwest. Preston will be responsible for introducing new crop protection products to Midwestern customers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana.
