ProfitPro, Albert Lea, MN, introduces two new proprietary calcium products — SoilCal and PlantCal. According to the company, SoilCal conditions the soil and improves plant rootability and soil nutrient availability. It can be applied in the fall and throughout the winter up to 30 days prior to planting. ProfitPro says PlantCal improves calcium and overall mineral availability to the plant. It is applied after the last tillage pass in the spring, but prior to crop emergence.
A grower can start with either product. Application rates are determined through a proprietary soil evaluation and by the sequence of product application. Both products can be used on row crops, alfalfa, hay, and perennial and winter cereal crops.
