New sprayers raise the bar

With the introduction of its 2005 model line, Equipment Technologies, manufacturer of the Apache line of sprayers, is proud of its “spirit of innovation,” something it says makes Apache the number-one mechanical drive sprayer.

During a recent press day held at its manufacturing plant in Mooresville, IN, Equipment Technologies presented the new 2005 AS1200 sprayer, which the company has redesigned and enhanced with new performance features.

Custom cab

The 2005 Apache has an all-new custom cab that maximizes visibility and comfort. Highlights of the cab design include wraparound glass, fatigue-reducing ergonomic controls and added features that increase operator satisfaction and productivity.

New engineering to the '05 sprayer optimizes sprayer performance and also includes enhancements to the hydraulic, fuel, cooling, intake and exhaust systems. All of these improvements “raise the bar for power, durability and fuel efficiency,” say company officials.

Mechanical drive

But the heart of the Apache sprayer is its mechanical drive system. “Growers and commercial applicators find that a mechanical sprayer is much easier to service and is much more reliable than other, more expensive sprayers,” says Mike Flatt, Illinois territory manager for Equipment Technologies. “Parts can be fixed in the field, owners can oftentimes perform the repairs themselves and there is much less downtime.” Flatt also says that since the machine is so durable and costs much less than hydraulic-based equipment, the Apache pays for itself faster than other units do. Apache's base prices range from $91,572 for the 500 series to $161,302 for the 1200 series.

The new Apache is available with several tank sizes (500, 850, 1,000 and 1,200 gal.) and is suited for a variety of applications. For more information, you can visit the company's Web site at www.apachesprayer.com.

“The '05 redesign is the result of listening and responding to customer feedback,” says Mike Hays, CEO of Equipment Technologies. “The best part of being a small, independent company is having a sharp focus on customers' needs and the ability to quickly address those needs.”
