THE TEMPORARY loss of a base signal on a guidance system no longer means lost work time. John Deere Ag Management Solutions (AMS) recently received a patent on RTK Extend, a feature on its StarFire guidance system that sustains guidance accuracy for up to 15 min. If an operator loses a signal due to temporary obstructions such as a tree, hill or building, the operator has 15 min. to restore the signal in his vehicle before losing the RTK (real-time kinematic) accuracy.
The StarFire system is compatible with GreenStar AutoTrac and provides sub-inch, repeatable accuracy in the field.
