GPS-based ground speed sensor

Dickey-john, Auburn, IL, says its new iSpeed is a ground speed sensor featuring state-of-the-art GPS technology. Compact and low profile, iSpeed uses magnets rather than bolt-on brackets to attach to the tops of tractors or implements.

The unit is preprogrammed for instant start-up, eliminating the need for driving a course to calibrate, and updates at a fast 5-Hz rate.

ISpeed receives its signal from a global positioning satellite. The signal starts and stops in synchronization with vehicle movement, rather than the ground, and variances in weather and surfaces don't affect its accuracy.
